This Javadoc describes the interface you can use to access the WebSphere Portal Search Engine and create your own search portlets.
The IBM® Search and Indexing API (SIAPI) is an API that was first available with WebSphere® Portal V5.1. It enables developers to build search portlets which access the WebSphere Portal Search Engine, and to tailor them to your organization's requirements. It supports construction of custom queries, browsing taxonomies, and more. Optionally, you can deploy SIAPI search applications with IBM WebSphere Information Integrator OmniFind Edition.
In order to enable this API in WebSphere Portal V5.1, you must install the fix for APAR PK08147.
This Javadoc is available for both WebSphere Portal V5.1 and for WebSphere Portal V6.
