the UDDI Registry Samples are simple applications that demonstrate how to programmatically access a UDDI Registry. They run on WebSphere Application Server Version 5.0, using the UDDI Registry which is an optional component of WebSphere Application Server for Network Deployment.

The UDDI Registry Samples demonstrate how to programmatically access the WebSphere UDDI Registry. They run on WebSphere Application Server Version 5.0, using the UDDI Registry that is an optional component of WebSphere Application Server for Network Deployment. They demonstrate how to:

  • Manipulate tModels, businessEntities, and businessServices
  • Publish and find businesses, services, and tModels using the Enterprise JavaBean interface
  • Save data to the UDDI Registry and delete that data

Samples are also available for WebSphere Application Server Version 6.

Hardware requirements

The hardware requirements for this sample are the same as for WebSphere Application Server Versions 5.0.

Software requirements

  • WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment Version 5.0, and any prerequisite software that it requires
  • WebSphere UDDI registry component of WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment Version 5.0
  • Web browser: Internet Explorer 5.x or 6.x or Netscape 4.79 or higher

Supported operating systems

These samples run on all operating systems that are supported by WebSphere Application Server Version 5.0. They have been tested on Windows® NT and 2000, AIX® 5.1, SuSE Linux 7.3, and Red Hat Linux 7.1.Separate versions of these samples have been developed for and tested on the iSeries operating system and on the zSeries operating system.


Installation instructions

To install the UDDI Registry Samples, download the ZIP file and unarchive it to a directory of your choice, preserving the directory structure. This creates a subdirectory tree containing the Java source for the samples and the XML files they use. After unarchiving the UDDI Registry Samples, open the readme.html file. This gives instructions on how to install, configure, build and run these samples.
