Oct 2006 This updated version of Plants by WebSphere sample demonstrates the new functions in WebSphere Application Server Version 5.0.1 with additional features, such as container-managed relationships, a B2B supplier application using SOAP over HTTP, and J2EE security.
Plants by WebSphere is a sample online store that specializes in plants and gardening tools. Customers can open accounts, browse for items to purchase, view product details, and place orders. This sample uses many of the J2EEand WebSphere Application Server functions, including enterprise beans, servlets, and JavaServer Page (JSP) technology. In this updated version, you will find container-managed persistence, container-managed relationships, stateless session beans, a stateful session bean, and a supplier application that demonstrates B2B functions. The supplier application uses SOAP over HTTP, message-driven beans, and JMS.
This sample was developed and configured using WebSphere Studio Application Developer Version 5.0.1.

The hardware requirements for this sample are the same as for WebSphere Application Server Versions 5.0.1 and 5.0.2

Supported operating systems
This sample runs on all operating systems that are supported by WebSphere Application Server Version 5.0.1. It has been tested on Windows® 2000 Service Pack 3, AIX® 5.1 ML2, and RedHat Linux Advanced Server 2.1.
Installation instructions
To install the Plants by WebSphere sample, download the ZIP file (below) and unarchive it to a directory of your choice.
After unarchiving, open the index.html file located in the <your-unzip-location>/PlantsByWebSphereSample
directory. This file includes instructions on how to install, configure and run the sample
