David Jencks is a Software Developer with the IBM team working directly on Apache Geronimo. After studying mathematics, he spent 15 years as a musical instrument maker with a brief side trip into biochemistry. Drawn to programming by the relationship between relational database theory and logic, he progressed in Java programming from writing the Firebird JDBC/J2CA driver through extensive work on most aspects of the JBoss application server. He started anew as a founding member of the Apache Geronimo project in 2003, and has since worked almost exclusively on Geronimo and closely related projects.
