This course is designed for experienced Project Managers, Senior Architects or Team Leads who are relatively new to WebSphere projects. The course gives pointers on best practices, pitfalls to avoid, and a primer on J2EE technology and the WebSphere family of products.
After completing this course, students should be able to:
Describe key concepts and acronyms related to the development of J2EE based software solutions.
Identify the core technologies used in a WebSphere, J2EE development effort
Discuss the key tools and products in the IBM WebSphere Application Development and Server Platform.
Identify key issues of importance to project managers and architects when
planning a new WebSphere development project as a function of the project lifecycle.
Describe key roles, activities, workflows and artifacts involved in a WebSphere development project.
Prerequisites
The course assumes students have little knowledge of Java or J2EE. It is preferable that attendees have experience in managing the development of software systems, applications and server-based solutions.
