Create an electronic form solution with DB2 pureXML and Lotus Forms
Electronic forms are an attractive way to automate paper-based processes and reduce material and personnel costs. This demo shows how to create an XML-based electronic form solution in three steps using Lotus Forms to capture and send the data, and DB2 pureXML to receive and store the data. The two are linked by a simple Web service that takes only minutes to create with Data Studio. This demo shows how to create the DB2 database and table to store the XML, how to create the Web service, and how to create the simple data capture and transmission form. It then shows you the running application, including how to query the data stored in DB2 pureXML and a Cognos report built from the data.

Getting started with the mobile composite application framework
This tutorial is a technical preview of a mobile composite application framework that can be run
on IBM Lotus Expeditor 6.2 or Sprint Titan 1.0. The mobile composite application framework enables developers
to quickly create composite applications for mobile devices. Composite applications are compelling for
mobile devices as they can integrate many day-to-day tasks that a mobile user typically completes. The
integration of these tasks enables the user to complete these tasks in a more efficient manner, which lends
to an enhanced user experience. This tutorial explains the key components of the mobile composite application
framework and walks you through a sample composite application built using this framework.
Note: The framework is currently in the development stages and is provided here only as a preview and
evaluation version of its future release as a component of Lotus Expeditor.

XPages, Themes, and Mashups in IBM Lotus Domino Web application development
XPages and Themes are two new technologies available to Lotus Domino Web application developers with the release of IBM Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino 8.5. They provide more flexibility and greater control over what is delivered to the Web browser client screen than any previous release. XPages leverages a new JavaServer Face rendering engine while Themes allows even further control to manipulate the content -- from CSS declarations to XML markup rendering -- that is displayed. In this tutorial, you will use both XPages and Themes to create an enterprise-class salesforce tracking and task assignment Lotus Domino Web application. To further showcase the advanced capabilities of the technologies available to Lotus Domino Web application developers, the example for this tutorial is a mashup application featuring functional OpenStreetMap and GeoCoder integration.

Understanding IBM Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony
This white paper defines the IBM Unified Communications and Collaboration (IBM UC2) vision of making it easy for you to find, reach, and collaborate with others through a unified user experience. This strategy is implemented by means of the IBM Lotus Sametime Unified Telephony (SUT) software offering that is designed to make it easy for you to access and manage telephone communications from inside the Lotus Sametime or Lotus Notes client.
We examine the rich set of SUT features and provide an in-depth technical analysis on how you can add SUT to existing heterogeneous PBX environments without having to replace legacy telephony equipment. Due to the variation of possible deployment options, we cover each scenario from a high level, focusing on how each decision affects the enterprise, down to the individual call flows.
This paper provides supplementary information to other published IBM documents that further describe Lotus Sametime and the IBM UC2 vision.

Introducing Domino XML Language (DXL)
To implement database or template customization for users' demands, you usually need to dynamically and automatically add design elements, such as an agent, a view, or a folder, to existing databases, or to modify existing design elements in the database. Domino XML Language (DXL) is an XML representation of IBM® Lotus® Domino® data and design elements that provides a great way to implement the capture of design elements and the import or export of design elements to and from databases. In this article, we introduce the concept of DXL, and through use cases with detailed implementation, we illustrate how to apply DXL to dynamically add or modify design elements to complete the user's database or template customization.

Virtual images make installing and configuring software faster and easier than ever
