IBM Lotus Notes 8.5 iCalendar: Interoperability, implementation, and application
IBM® Lotus® Notes® 7.02 introduced the ability to import a public calendar in iCalendar format. Earlier, Lotus Notes 6.0 introduced the use of iCalendar as a calendar workflow exchange between applications or systems using Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). Customers interacting with different Internet calendar applications rely on iCalendar to exchange their calendar information to process the iCalendar invitation. Beginning with version 8.5, Lotus Notes implements an improvement to iCalendar interoperability that helps customers increase their work efficiency.

Working with components in IBM Lotus Quickr 8.1, part 3: Exposing components as a custom Atom feed
This article, the third in a three-part series, demonstrates how to expose the IBM® Lotus® Quickr™ content (items) as a custom Atom feed. The new Atom feed can be used to fetch Lotus Quickr content from components such as task or announcement across all teamplaces to which the user belongs. The content can also be filtered based on any option field of the component, such as the priority field of the task component or the type field of the announcement component.

Java™ views were introduced in the IBM® Lotus® Notes® client in release 8.0. Many new features were implemented through the Java views to modernize the Lotus Notes interface. After you have converted your application to use the Java view, you can follow the steps outlined in this article to take advantage of the new view features offered, such as threads, narrow mode, business cards, split action buttons, and custom context menus. This article presumes that you have an installed version of Lotus Notes 8.5, IBM Lotus Domino Designer 8.5, and the Lotus Notes 8.5 composite application editor. You should also be familiar with working in Lotus Domino® Designer.

Working with components in IBM Lotus Quickr, part 2: Creating a personalized view of the announcement component
This article explains how to create a personalized view of announcement items across all the teamplaces to which a user belongs. This article uses the IBM® Lotus® Web Content Management menu component for searching all the announcement content (items) that are created in different teamplaces to which the user belongs. The resulting set from the menu component is then filtered using Java™Script based on criteria. A similar approach can be used to create a personalized view of any other Lotus Web Content Management components, such as the Contact or Task components in IBM Lotus Quickr™.
