|SmartCloud tip: Tailor image validation rules on the fly
IBM SmartCloud Enterprise provides a dynamic way to customize cloud images. You can transfer parameters on the fly to the instance creation process to create your final customized image. When your image is shared among a group or promoted to be public, users of your image will provide parameters to create their own instances by the Portal or an API. But you want to make certain that users are creating the instances properly and are providing the correct input. In this article, the authors introduce a set of rules you can use when parameterizing an image, including regular expressions, known patterns, CompoundRules, and metaphor-based validation.
