Virtual Innovation Center
Academic Initiative members can access comprehensive online training materials at no charge through the Virtual Innovation Center (VIC). More than 800 online courses and materials supporting a wide range of software, hardware and services topics are accessible 24/7. Take the courses online while connected, or download them and take them at your convenience.
Note: Members who registered for the IBM Academic Initiative within the past 48 hours might experience a delay in gaining access to the VIC. If you are unable to sign in, please allow an additional 24 hours for your registration to take effect, then try again.

- developerWorks tutorials: Learn more about IBM products by taking a no-charge tutorial.
- IBM Education Assistant: The IBM Education Assistant is a collection of multimedia educational modules that can help you gain a better understanding of IBM products and use them more effectively.
- IBM DEMOzone: This demonstration portfolio is a great way to understand IBM products and see them in action.
- On demand demos: These quick product walk-throughs range from installation and setup demos for beginners, to advanced functionality for experienced developers.
- Podcasts: These podcasts are interviews and discussions on topics vital to software developers but all are invited to attend. You may subscribe to the RSS feeds to be notified of new podcasts as soon as they are available.
- Webcasts: developerWorks hosts several webcasts every month on a variety of topics. You can attend the webcasts live or view the replay afterwards to make this training option fit your busy schedule.

- IBM Innovation Centers workshop and technical seminars: The worldwide IBM Innovation Centers offer a wide range of no-charge workshops, seminars and briefings conducted by highly trained subject matter experts. Workshops are offered in 2 formats—traditional classroom and virtual. Hands-on exercises are included in both formats.
- IBM developerWorks Live!: These briefings are worldwide, always free, and cover the latest topics related to IBM software and technologies. Find briefings in your area.
