Find out how IBM can help you teach topics that relate to application servers with our wide range of offerings for both large and small operating systems.

Overview of application servers

Application servers are the means to process business logic and provide the results to client applications through various protocols, including Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). IBM WebSphere servers provide a full integration, application, and transaction infrastructure for a wide range of purposes, such as Web commerce, mobile and speech, and personalized interaction with content, processes, and people.

IBM WebSphere servers run on many platforms, including AIX, HP Unix, i5/OS, Linux, Sun Solaris, Windows, and z/OS. If your curriculum includes any application server topics, or if you need application servers for your labs, check out our IBM WebSphere offerings.
