2007 IBM Master the Mainframe Contest winners

The IBM Academic Initiative System z and the IBM Master the Mainframe Contest Team would like to recognize all of the students who have distinguished themselves in the 2007 Master the Mainframe Contest.

With 1,750 students registering to compete from 325 schools across the U.S. and Canada, the turnout for this contest was unprecedented.


Part 3 winners

The competition in Part 3 this year was extremely tough, with many students turning in exceptional performances. Students deserve much credit for just attempting the difficult and time-consuming Part 3 challenges. After months of hard work put in by many contestants, we are pleased to announce this year's Part 3 winners:

We hope these students can tear themselves away from their 3270 emulators long enough to enjoy their new Nintendo Wii systems. These students have demonstrated exceptional intelligence, perseverance and, of course, exemplary mainframe skills. Congratulations on all of your remarkable efforts and achievements!


Part 2 winners

The first sixty students to blaze through the (also difficult) Part 2 challenges 100% correctly, winning $100 pre-paid debit cards for their impressive performances were:

Part 1 winners

Over 800 students successfully completed the Part 1 challenges to win Master the Mainframe T-shirts. Congratulations to all of the Part 1 winners! We hope you are the envy of all of your friends.


Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's contest, and to the educators who encouraged their students to compete! We hope you all enjoyed the contest as much as we enjoyed hosting it.
