To properly plan and implement the IBM® zEnterprise™ System ensemble (including the zBX), you must understand the purpose and benefits of the zEnterprise platform. This includes being able to identify and describe the main platform components, planned workload requirements, and operating systems that you will use.
Unified Resource Manager is licensed firmware that is configured to the zCEC serial number of the zEnterprise system. All zEnterprise System (zCEC) servers come with a default management suite that provides basic functions, but other options are available depending on the zBX blade configuration.
Two new ensemble networks, Intra-Node Management Network (INMN) and the Intra-Ensemble Data Network (IEDN), are used for management and data sharing activities. Other networks are widely used with a zEnterprise System ensemble configuration.
You will need to address several items from the z/OS side to participate in an ensemble configuration.
Look more closely at the ensemble network IEDN connectivity, how the external customer network can access the IEDN, identify any restrictions, and describe VLAN usage and TOR access capabilities.
Identify the SAN connections and requirements for the zBX BladeCenter chassis.

7. What are the HMC requirements and what tasks are required for initial install, who will have access to the HMC and at what level of authority?
Look at the new role of the HMC in an ensemble configuration, required support levels, and the tasks used to create the primary and alternate HMC. User access resource and task roles are also identified and explained.
