UBL, an XML-based technology (not an application) is designed to plug into existing business, legal, auditing, and record management practices.
After you have read the basic articles, download UBL 2.0. Examine the business entities in UBL and their context. Explore the common business documents; each represents a real business document or message for a business transaction. Find UML diagrams that allow you to dig further into the architecture of UBL.
Modify or add to UBL schemas in order to fit them to a particular purpose. Consult the UBL 2 Guidelines for practical advice in creating UBL-conformant and UBL-compatible document schemas and naming conventions documents.
