1. Get the basics on Platform as a Service (PaaS)
Examine the main components of PaaS, a computing platform and a runtime environment that enables developers to build and deploy web applications on a hosted infrastructure. PaaS provides access to operating systems and associated services, and a way to deploy applications to the cloud using programming languages and tools supported by the provider.
2. Examine key components in the PaaS structure
A solution stack is a set of software subsystems needed to deliver a fully functional product or service. It almost always consists of an operating system, some sort of server or middleware, and a database to store data. It can also include such components as applications or programming languages.
3. Explore the middleware that comprises Platform as a Service
Middleware is about connection: It helps you deliver and manage applications in the cloud by connecting software components. The brilliance of the PaaS model is that it lets the user tap into middleware - such as enterprise application integration and development tools, transaction monitors, rapid app environment deployment software - to develop and deploy applications without having to manage that middleware.
