Skill building takes time. Let knowledge paths pave the way.

Knowledge paths assemble the best skill-building resources for you

Knowledge paths are focused learning guides that bring together diverse training resources for IT professionals:

   How-to articles
   Free trial software
   Discussion forums
   Educational videos and podcasts
   Hands-on exercises

These resources are specifically chosen by subject matter experts, and arranged in sequence to guide you from conceptual awareness to task mastery.

Knowledge paths track your progress

Everyone's busy. You may not have time to complete an entire knowledge path in one sitting. Knowledge paths account for your full schedule by remembering the last resource you examined.

For example, if you get through the second video of the third step in a knowledge path, and then have to stop, no problem! The next time you come back to that knowledge path, whether it's the next day or the next quarter, your progress is marked by green check marks. You can quickly resume exactly where you left off.

Help: Update or add to My dW interests

What's this?

This little timesaver lets you update your My developerWorks profile with just one click! The general subject of this content (AIX and UNIX, Information Management, Lotus, Rational, Tivoli, WebSphere, Java, Linux, Open source, SOA and Web services, Web development, or XML) will be added to the interests section of your profile, if it's not there already. You only need to be logged in to My developerWorks.

And what's the point of adding your interests to your profile? That's how you find other users with the same interests as yours, and see what they're reading and contributing to the community. Your interests also help us recommend relevant developerWorks content to you.

Help: Remove from My dW interests

What's this?

Removing this interest does not alter your profile, but rather removes this piece of content from a list of all content for which you've indicated interest. In a future enhancement to My developerWorks, you'll be able to see a record of that content.
