Enterprise Disk
IBM's Premier enterprise disk storage system DS8000, adds Thin Provisioning
DS8000 Thin Provisioning helps clients curtail capital expenditures by increasing existing disk capacity utilization. Clients can add capacity when they actually need it, rather than dedicating vast amounts of spare capacity unnecessarily. Higher capacity utilization can also lower operating costs associated with energy use and data center floorspace. Other enhancements include multitrack support for High Performance FICON for System z and quicker LUN initialization.
