developerWorks Live!
Cloud computing; an introduction and overview
Cloud computing; an introduction and overview Cloud computing has hit the IT industry like a fast moving spring storm. It is a style of computing in which dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources are provided as a service over the Internet. You don't need to have knowledge of, expertise in, or control over the technology infrastructure "in the cloud" that supports the resources. Cloud Computing incorporates many concepts such as Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS), Software as a Service (SAAS), and Web 2.0 with a common reliance on Internet technologies.
