 Description: The Washington, DC Analytics Solutions Center is a collection of IBMers focused on the hottest growth segments in business technology, called analytics. The center will serve clients in the WDC Metro area attempting to solve their toughest challenges using these new advanced techniques. Initially, it will focus on all aspects in the development of infrastructure for "smarter" cities, including public safety, transportation and traffic, water, and energy optimization. Analytics is the ability to see patterns in vast amounts of data and extract actionable business insights. IBM sees analytics as the key to making many of the world’s systems smarter. For example, in order to sustain growth, cities must grow smarter. City infrastructures are capable of collecting real-time information about their operations via embedding sensors. Taking that information and using it to improve vital services such as transportation, healthcare, education, public safety, energy and water are a reality and already being deployed some visionary cities.
