About this tutorial

This tutorial demonstrates how to work with assets in the Asset Management perspective within the Eclipse client. After you complete this tutorial, your Eclipse workspace will display the:

  • Account Management Service Design asset that you found by using search techniques
  • Credit Management Case for Change asset that you imported as a related asset
  • NewRequirementAsset that you created and submitted to the repository

Objectives

After completing this tutorial, you will have the skills needed to successfully use the Rational Asset Manager Eclipse client. You will learn how to:

  • Install the Eclipse client by using the update site
  • Create a new repository connection
  • Work with and manage elements in the My Repository view
  • Find assets using keywords, tags, and filters
  • Import assets into your workspace
  • Create and submit a new asset

Prerequisites

This tutorial is written for users who are familiar with Eclipse and who have a working installation of Rational Asset Manager Web client. You will need administrator authority in the Web client to install the sample model.


System requirements

To complete the steps in this tutorial, you need a Linux or Windows machine with Eclipse, and administrator authority on a machine with Rational Asset Manager Web client installed.
