Summary:  This self-paced, online course teaches current users of WebSphere Studio some of the terms associated with the configuration management application, IBM Rational ClearCase. Students will also learn how ClearCase is used in conjunction with WebSphere Studio by studying a concept diagram. This Short Learning Module is designed to provide 60 minutes of just-in-time training on a focused topic.

This Web-based course helps developers and project team members get started using both IBM® Rational ClearCase® v2002 for Microsoft Windows and ClearCase Web interface.

This course uses the Short Learning Module (SLM) instructional design format. A brief introductory module is followed by 2 task-oriented modules and a conclusion module. This SLM is designed to provide 60 minutes of just-in-time training on a focused topic.

Objectives
Upon completion, participants should be able to:

  • Define 20 terms relevant to ClearCase functionality
  • Assemble a technical diagram showing the relationship between ClearCase and WebSphere Studio
  • Answer questions about the integration of ClearCase and WebSphere Studio

Software products
This course addresses training for:

  • Rational ClearCase with UCM version 6
  • WebSphere Studio version 5

Note: Students do not need to install this software before taking this course

The course is intended for:

  • Current users of WebSphere Studio
  • Project Managers interested in configuration management systems
  • Software Developers who use configuration management systems

Prerequisites

  • There are no prerequisites for this course, although familiarity with WebSphere Studio is assumed.

System requirements

  • Courseware should work on most common OS configurations
  • Courseware is optimized for IE 5.x browsers but also works with most Netscape versions
  • Netscape 4.x users may see minor formatting irregularities
  • Flash 5 or 6 plugin is required (download link provided)
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader is required (download link provided)
  • Additional software products not required
