Instructions on how to use IBM Rational ProjectConsole's text collection to collect from a structured text file such as a comma-separated-values file.

This item was originally published in December, 2003.

IBM® Rational® ProjectConsole™ can extract measurement data automatically from IBM Rational tool repositories as well as Microsoft Project plans with agents that use the Rational Suite Extensibility Interface (RSEI). Data from third-party tools can also be collected by ProjectConsole using ProjectConsole's text collection capabilities. By exporting data from the third-party tool into a text file such as a comma-separated-values (CSV) file, you can then define a text collection that parses the CSV file and imports the data directly into ProjectConsole.

This simple guide provides instructions on how to use IBM Rational ProjectConsole's text collection to collect from a structured text file such as a comma-separated-values file.
