On June 5, 2006 IBM announced the withdrawal of the Rational Rose XDE product family listed below. The Rational XDE components are being withdrawn from the market; however, the Rational Rose components will continue to be supported and will be re-packaged into a new set of offerings.

Where to Start
Begin by discussing your needs with your Rational account
team. Together, you will consider such topics as the skill sets available on
your team, your project schedule, and your budget constraints. With this information,
Rational will guide you to the right deployment solution to get your team productive
with Rational XDE as soon as possible. Two deployment options are available
to you today:
XDE Deployment Kit
The XDE Deployment Kit is the newest addition to the family
of deployment solutions for Rational XDE. This kit has been designed especially
for self-starters. This kit:
- Enables you to manage and resource the deployment yourselves
- Packages core deployment activities as "services modules" that
you and your team can perform yourselves or with Rational assistance
- Provides guidelines for each module, with tips and best practices
for conducting the activity described
- Can significantly reduce the total cost of deployment

XDE Deployment Service
The XDE Deployment Service is different than the XDE Deployment
Kit in that Rational conducts the deployment activities with the assistance
of your team. The XDE Deployment Service is completely configurable in terms
of the deployment activities and the training your team needs. Find out more
