Objectives
You will learn how to do the following tasks:
- Start Rational Developer for i
- Configure a connection to i5/OS and connect to a server
- View and access objects in the Remote System Explorer
- Edit source
- Understand your program code with the Application Diagram
- Verify and compile source
Prerequisites
You should be familiar with one of the IBM® Rational Software Delivery Platform products that IBM® Rational® Developer for System i™ supports and have knowledge of System i applications.
System requirements
Operating Systems: Microsoft® Windows® 2000 SP4, Windows 2003 Enterprise SP1, Windows 2003 Standard SP1, Windows XP Professional SP2, Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Enterprise, and Windows Vista Ultimate
Hardware: Intel® Pentium® III 800 MHz processor minimum (higher is recommended) 512 MB RAM; 1 GB RAM recommended
Minimum: 800 MB of disk space is required for product package installation. Additional disk space is required for the resources that you develop.
