Introduction

IBM® Rational® SoDA® is a completely customizable environment and because of this it is sometimes difficult to know where to get started. IBM Rational has developed a series of instructional exercises that will help a new SoDA user learn the basics. While most of these exercises were developed to be completed independently, some do depend on the successful completion of other exercises. Read the prerequisite sections as these will tell you if another exercise needs to be completed first.

These exercises were developed for the 2003.06.00 version of SoDA. The screenshots were developed with Microsoft Word 2000, you will notice some differences if you are using later versions of Word. If you are just learning how to use SoDA, it is recommended that you start with the exercise entitled Creating a RequisitePro Project and then work through each successive exercise listed below. In addition, there are some exercises included with SoDA. These skill areas are not duplicated by the material here. If you are looking to learn a specific skill, read the introduction, the Use-case (located before the first exercise of each exercise) and the conclusion to determine if that exercise includes the skill you are looking for. Good luck and happy template building!
