This RUP for Microsoft .NET Plug-in is an RMC V7.0.1 plug-in that provides the context to take advantage of this emerging technology. It helps ensure that developer's solutions are maintainable and business-oriented. It supplements RUP with .NET-specific content and provides guidance on how to perform the RUP activities in the context of a .NET development project.

System requirements

RUP for Microsoft .NET Plug-in v. 3.0

The RUP Plug-in for Microsoft® .NET provides detailed support for development teams transitioning to the .NET platform. The process captures the best practices and guidance from industry experts in the .NET and software development spaces. It is essentially the same as v2.1. Changes consist primarily of look and feel and structure changes to accommodate changes to the underlying RUP process.

Note: This is a Rational Method Composer V7.0.1 plug-in. You can click on the plug-in name to download the zip file. For those plug-ins that ship with RMC V7.1, you will get the latest versions when you migrate to the RMC Version 7.1. Also in RMC V7.1 are new RUP plug-ins, and many of the plug-ins here are available in more language versions than those listed below. New downloadable plug-ins are also avaliable for RMC V7.1 from the IBM Rational Method Composer 7.1 Plug-ins index page.

Rational Unified Process V7.0.1. However, this plug-in does not depend on RUP content.

Download instructions

The following instructions are also in the readme.txt file that is included in the zip file.

To download the plug-in and import it into a Rational Method Composer library, follow these instructions:

1. Download the zip file and extract the contents
2. Start Rational Method Composer
3. Select File > Import to launch the Import Wizard
4. On the Select page in the Wizard, select Method Plug-ins and click Next
5. Uncheck the Use default directory checkbox
6. Browse to the location where you extracted the plug-in and select the directory with the plug-in name, click OK and then Next
7. Check the box next to the plug-in name and click Finish
8. If you do not have a backup copy of your current library it is advisable to make a backup copy before importing the plug-in. Click Yes when asked to make a backup copy of your library
9. The plug-in will be imported into your library and you will see it in the Library View
