Description
RUP for Maintenance Projects is a Rational Method Composer 7.0.1 plug-in that describes a delivery process for performing maintenance on a software product. The plug-in provides a delivery process, tasks, and guidance for understanding the purpose of a maintenance development cycle, avoiding pitfalls during a maintenance cycle, and successfully delivering a product with higher quality than the previous release.
Note: This is a Rational Method Composer V7.0.1 plug-in. You can click on the plug-in name to download the zip file. For those plug-ins that ship with RMC V7.1, you will get the latest versions when you migrate to the RMC Version 7.1. Also in RMC V7.1 are new RUP plug-ins and many of the plug-ins here are available in more language versions than those listed below. Installation
This procedure describes how to install a plug-in packaged in a stand-alone library. There are two options: install the plug-in in a stand-alone library (as follows) or install the plug-in as part of an existent library (see the section entitled: Installing in an existing library, below).
Note: You must have Rational Method Composer installed on your computer.
- Download and unzip the plug-in zip file to a convenient location
- Start Rational Method Composer
- In the Open a method library window, click Browse
- Select the library that you just unzipped. If RMC opens your default library, use the File > Open > Method Library command
Note: The library.xmi file should be present in the selected folder.
- Click OK.
Installing in an existing library
- Download and unzip the plug-in zip file to a convenient location
- Start Rational Method Composer. RMC either opens your default library, or prompts you to select a library to open. If RMC opens your default library, and you wish to import into a different library, then select File > Open > Method Library to open a new library
- Go to File > Import and choose Library configuration
- Uncheck the Use Default Directory checkbox
- Browse to the place you unzipped the downloaded file and select it
- Review the library changes presented in the next screen and click Finish
- Accept the Backup Library recommendation by clicking OK
- The plug-in will be imported into your library and you will see it in the Library View
