17 Jun 2008 The new Perl API version was made available in IBM® Rational® Build Forge® release 7.0.2 to enable metadata configuration and runtime control by native Perl programmatic clients. It allows a programmatic interaction with the engine for the execution of projects and management of Build Forge data.
Purpose
The new Perl API version was made available in IBM® Rational® Build Forge® release 7.0.2 to enable metadata configuration and runtime control by native Perl programmatic clients:
- Metadata examples: Collector creation, Project modification, User deletion
- Runtime control examples: Executing or canceling a build
It allows a programmatic interaction with the engine for the execution of projects and management of Build Forge data.
The API’s documentation serves its purpose as a comprehensive reference, but it does not provide any guidance on use patterns. This document complements the reference material, thus constituting a guide to the API use by describing its architecture, installation procedure, main transactions, and providing sample code to exemplify the main concepts.
