This page provides a compiled list of testing demonstrations for IBM® Rational® Functional Tester, IBM® Rational® Performance Tester, and IBM® Rational® ClearQuest® test management capabilities.

The following testing demonstrations are available for viewing and download. Audio transcripts are available online and as downloads.

IBM Rational Functional Tester:

• Using datapools with Functional Tester, Java Scripting: Create data-driven tests using datapools --This demo covers the recording of a new functional test script, converting a value to a datapool reference, modifying the Private Test Datapool, and re-running the test script using data from the datapool.
• Using regular expressions with Functional Tester, Java Scripting: Build scripts that can handle dynamic content -- Learn how to record a test script, review the test log, convert a value to a regular expression, evaluate the regular expression, re-run the test script, and review the test log.
• Using ScriptAssure with Functional Tester, Java Scripting: Manage object recognition during test playback -- Understand how to run a test script, use ScriptAssure to modify tolerance levels, re-run the test script, review the test log, re-adjust the tolerance levels, and re-run the test script.

IBM Rational Performance Tester:

• Creating a custom report with Performance Tester: Design your own test reports to better communicate your test results -- Learn how to modify an existing report, add counters to an existing report, create a new report, and modify the new report.
• Using data correlation with Performance Tester: Manage test data through the reuse of content -- This demo focuses on opening an existing performance test, searching for an item ID, and locating references linked to the item ID.
• Using datapools with Performance Tester: Manage test data to automate the handling of dynamic data -- Learn how to record a performance test, create a new datapool by importing a data file, associate the datapool with the performance test, run the performance test with the datapool, and review the test log.

IBM Rational ClearQuest:

• Creating an asset registry with ClearQuest's test management capabilities: Organize and easily keep track all your test assets -- Learn how to create an Asset Registry containing Configuration Attributes, Configurations, an Iteration and a File Location.
• Creating a custom query with ClearQuest's test management capabilities: Discover how changed requirements may affect your test effort -- Find out how to create a custom query, run the query, create a new Configured Test Case, and then re-run the query to see the newly-created Configured Test Case.
• Building a test suite with ClearQuest's test management capabilities: Organize and easily keep track of all your test cases -- This demo covers how to create various artifacts including a Test plan, Test Cases, Configured Test Cases, and a Test Suite, in addition to associating a test script and an Iteration with the artifacts. The demo also shows how to associate the Configured Test Cases with the Test Suite and change the state of these artifacts so that the Test Suite is ready to be executed.
