Hi

A few points:

1) ClearCase VOB and View serever do not demand mutch CPU capacity.
Multisite does. This means that you may di well with moderate CPU
capacity if not using multisite. We had to upgrade our ClearCase server
becaurse odf this. When exporting/importing Mulitisite package was our
load well above 1. When not "Multisiting" was the load well below 1.
When the time doing Multisoiting become as long as the time between
Multiasiting you are in big troubble.

2) It is possible to have one multi CPU server as both VOB and View
server with good prestande. But you need enough memory (This enough
shall pronounce exact as whith Rolls Royce horse power ;-) ). The reson
is that tghe VIew server, and the VOB server demands memory in different
way, and if conflict does the View win, and the VOB serever procesees
start swapping.

3) Does your ClearCase environment grow? If so make sure for some
growing marginal.

4) It is difficult to giva any figures becaurse it is so amny depend,
but my standard recomendation is: "Buy the most powerfull computer you
cab aford".
