Gabriel,

Upgraded to 2.2.1 and 2.2.1a about 2 weeks ago. All servers were fine except
for one VOB server which started rebooting at strange times (atleast twice
daily). Think the problem may have been tied to number of files being opened
on that machine. It is loaded with VOBs.
Once we went back to SAMBA 2.0.7, no problems with reboots on that server
(it has been 2.5 days).
Environment: HP C3000 running HP-UX 10.20 - CC 4.1 patch cc-6 ms-1

Never had a problem with any other server with 2.2.1 or 2.2.1a. However we
are now moving back to 2.0.7 until we can get a good handle on the one
server problem.

Subject: [cciug] upgrading samba 2.0.7 to latest release 2.2.1 - anyone
try?

Hello All,

Has anyone tried to upgrade Samba from 2.0.7 to 2.2.1? If so how is it
working? I have all win2k environment and 2.0.7 has documented bugs
concerning interoperability with win2k. The samba user group says to upgrade
to the latest stable release. But rational says that it won't support
anything but 2.0.7.

Thanks in advance,
Gabriel Miller
