Hi,
In multisite , By default the VOB in which the branch is created masters the
branch type and all instances of that branch type.
Ex: If I have test_replica masters the branch type named main and owns the
right to modify main branch in all of the VOB's elements. At the element
level an administrator or developer can transfer mastership of a branch or
some of the elemnts to another replica.

I hope this gives you the answer.

Thanks and regards.
lakshmi.

Subject: [cciug] What is meant by "Inital Master of an object is the replica
where the object is created"
Importance: High

 Hello

I am new to ClearCase & Multiiste
This may be a silly question to ask as I am not clear to the sentence given
below

Clarify: What is meant by "The initial master of an object is the replica
where the object is created."

It means that the object created in a vob becomes the master and as the
object is being created for the first time it is called the inital master.
Here WHY replica is mentioned in what context ??

Thankx in Advance

Anoopchand
