Have any one of you had any of the following experience?
1. Your Version Control system got converted from ClearCase to others,
such as CVS? If so, for what reason?
2. Your company tried to convert from CVS to ClearCase and then abandon
it for CVS or other CM tools (failed deployments)? if so, for what reasons?
If you successfully converted from CVS to ClearCase:
1. What were the typical issues that engineers encountered during CVS
to ClearCase conversions?
2. What is the most difficult aspect of conversion from any CM tools
to ClearCase for engineers, management, test teams, etc.?
3. Did you notice any increases in productivity, efficiency, etc. when
deploying it with other Rational tools - getting products out on time,
responding to problems and escalations from customers, etc.
4. Was this the right solution for you, what would you have done
differently - deployment and migration from other CM tools and processes,
etc.
5. Disregarding the initial setup time for the ClearCase deployment
and the process and the related tools development, did it require more Admin
support or less?
6. Considering all the factors for the product development, release
and maintenance, and keeping Customers happy, was it cost effective?
