I reported the chmod issue to Rational in the beginning of the month and got
this reply:
"Hello Nico. I was able to confirm that this behaviour is indeed related to
a known defect which affects Red Had 7.1. The defect number is
CMBU00053385. This is slated for a fix in ClearCase 4.2 for Linux which
should be available shortly."
I'm eagerly waiting for 4.2 :-)
