  "Yes" would be the suggested answer if:
  a. You have a lot of CPUs (in one machine of course :-)
  b. You have a lot of vobs on that machine
  c. The lockmgr process takes a significant amount of cpu time

  (Since "a lot" is a imprecise term, you can depend on the fact that
item c being true would suggest a and b are, so the shared memory lock
manager would help.)

  Alternately, if you have only dual cpu vob servers, and the lockmgr
process on all of them doesn't appear to consume significant amounts
of CPU time, the shared memory lock manager probably won't change your
throughput.

  On the other hand, it should be a trivial upgrade. (As always, you
don't need to deinstall prior to a ClearCase upgrade install, so it
should be a 10-20 minute operation to upgrade, depending on network
performance to the release area.)
