'cleartool ls -r -s' will dump all the visible files in the view and their
version number (including private files. 'ct find' ignores private files.)

For each view, dump the output to text files and sort them. The diff the
two files.

-Or-

Create a new label and label everything in the original view with the new
label. Use the new label to base the new config spec off of.

-Or-

Haven't tried this before but maybe you could use clearaudit? Create a new
view with the original config spec and use 'clearaudit -c cleartool ls -r -s
> dir.txt'. Then tweak the config spec and run the command again. Use 'ct
diffcr' to get the differences.

Subject: [cciug] Comparison of Config Specs

Hi,

I have views with "huge" config specs which, in my opinion, need a diet.
However, I must be able to ensure that a new config spec would select the
same set of versions as the respective old config spec.

I'd like to hear your suggestion on how this verification could be done. I
can think of doing something with find and compare the output ... however,
maybe some of you have some smarter ideas :-)

Thanks in advance,

Peter
