I have a view creation wrapper script that implements my storage policies.

Views are considered to be a sharable resource, therefore the view storage
directory must be accessible from any location on the network.

I actually think this is a feature. Putting views on a local share can
make things faster and easier for the developer on that workstation who
uses that view. The only real problem occurs if that workstation is often
turned off or dicsonnected. If that is your case, then don't do that.

Since ClearCase originated in the UNIX world where workstations were
always on, this wasn't a problem.
