Re: [cciug] RE: How to remove the links between the Component VOB and the PVO B

I had to rebuild the links here - if Rational had a tool they didn't share
it with me! The two big links are AdminVOB and ComponentRootDir. My case
was a little different because my component VOB (apparently) got
unregistered and reregistered which caused some of the UCM links to be
broken. You might be ok with this approach:
 - delete from-side hlinks using rmhlink
 - delete to-side hlinks using checkvob -hlinks
 - unregister old UUID for component VOB
 - re-mkcomp on the new component VOB

In my case (as general info), the component VOB was actually still there
but was missing the terminating end of ComponentRootDir and the
originating end of AdminVOB. I cleaned it up using the first two steps,
above, and then recreated them manually. I went through three different
Rational techs and if there's a script for doing this, it isn't widely
known (which is certainly possible). I DO know they have scripts to
remove those UCM objects that can be so hard to remove - i.e.,
"used" streams - but not for cleaning up broken links. HTH -
