[cciug] Question about using ' ant ' as build tool

We are considering using 'ant' as a build tool for a Java application. I've
searched the archives and found a few references to 'ant', but still have a
couple of questions:

1. How do people use 'ant'? As a replacement for 'clearmake'? Or, within a
classic make file?

2. If you are concerned with using the configuration record from derived
objects, can you use 'ant' within a classic make file, or if you used it
within a 'clearaudit' script, would the derived objects contain config
records?

3. Any additional concerns/warnings/advice on using 'ant' to build
applications stored in ClearCase VOBs?

Thanks in advance.
