(clearcase, 3.2.1 clients and 4.1 servers, NT only)
I have a number of users who created snapshot views over the past year or so.
These views tend to stay in place for a long time, and eventually accumulate
problems. I ran an lsco -all to see if there were files that had been checked
out but shouldn't be, and resolving some of the results are giving me a
headache:
I have several important views with checkouts that read like this:
"\HAM1\JavaAPBeans\com\hyperion\br\apbeans\aplib@@\main\2\IAggDimensions.class"
The files are no longer visible in the views. I tried signing on to their view
and doing an unco, using the full path as above from the command prompt, but it
says the file is not a Clearcase element. If I sign on to the server as ccadmin
and create a dynamic view, cd into the directory, and try it there, I get the
message that it is not checked out to my view. There are several other
variations of this as well, and I just can't get the syntax right for undoing
the checkouts.
The syntax I'm using from a dynamic view as ccadmin on the server is:
cleartool unco
Y:\HAM1\JavaAPBeans\com\hyperion\br\apbeans\aplib@@\main\2\IAggDimensions.class
I tried it similarly from the user's view and still failed.
I know I can remove the views and that will cancel the checkouts, and I may end
up doing that in the end, but is there a way I can undo these checkouts without
destroying the views?
Thanks,
John
