I am on site with a client that is new to ClearCase for the first time. I
am currently working on developing an over all ClearCase strategy using UCM
Model and their current promotion model. The client is migrating from
Lucent Sablime to ClearCase. I was looking for any input or any areas's of
concerns that others have experienced with rolling out UCM to a very large
organization. The number of users are 600+.
One specific area of concern at present is that PVOBs are dependent to only
1 component relationship. In our current environment today we are using
some of the same components among multiple PVOBs. But Rational is telling
me that this can not be done and the work around is to clone the component
then create another PVOB. The over head on this is incrediable. Also I am
finding is that you can't modify your config specs while using UCM which
could be a concern at this point. So if any one has any information with
their personal experience of rolling out UCM I would greatly appreicate any
input.
