the question is kind of ambiguous!

both Maestro and Exceed are Hummingbird products doing
different things. Maestro is for NFS server to access
your pc via NFS. Exceed is X server used to access Xwindows
on your PC. You need both. if you are working in both
environments (PC and Unix users).

the correct comparision is Maestro or TAS or Samba.
We have used all and I think if you read the archives
TAS seems to have most votes although soon Samba (imho)
will probably win in a year :-). cost! Maestro has
issue that you cannot manage it centrally like the others.

as for xserver, i like exceed it is pretty good so i never
tried any others. You only need this if you have end users
who have pcs and want to access linux/unix and not have to
have another workstation.

at present we use clearcase, TAS and Exceed for supporting
end users on NT and Linux with vobs on Unix.

I have used NFS Maestro and Exceed but not side by side.

I thought NFS Maestros integration with Windows was smooth and elegant.
Exceed was a kludge and rather poor with access to windows. But both worked
well for the applications I was using them for.
Exceed seemed good on remote access and managing the remote window like
Xwindows. However NFS was better when you needed access in windows to files
or programs.

Thanks.

Hey guys,
Has anyone used NFS maestro or Exceed with their ClearCase? If so, how
does it work and how do you use it? Do you think one is better than the
other
if you want to interop your UNIX and NT platforms????????? Help...
