Hi,
What version of CC you are using??
Profile sin CC3.2.1 sucks as new element additions are always a problem
unless your private branch is off of /main branch. There is no way of
overriding it. Whenever my developers setup private branch in a view
that is using the profile, it screws up the config spec.
There are areas in config spec where you can add more rules but the
private branch rule take precedence over anything we add and also any
"-mkbranch" already in the config is removed when you setup a private
branch. This is really bad for development that is being done on a
(developemnt)branch off of main and the private branch is supposed to
branch off of this development branch.
Note that the checkout/checkin of the existing element will work fine.
So.. I wrote a tool in perl to create a view and setup a private branch.
My guess is your error is actually a byproduct of the effect of change
in the config spec.
Hope this gives some idea..
