Speaking as something of an authority on trueprint...
There are actually two versions of trueprint:
- Version 1 has recently been added to Lucent's exptools. This version
is based on the trueprint that has lived and been enhanced at Bell Labs
(specifically in Malmesbury, England by Mark Skeates) since I left there
about
ten years ago.
- Version 2 has grown and been enhanced by me as I move from company
to company. Version 2 has just recently become GNU Trueprint.
The two versions are somewhat divergent. Version 1 has changed less -
Mark has added features as the requests were passed to him, but as far
as I know most of the requests originated within Lucent, so the features
are reasonably Lucent-specific. Version 2 has grown significantly and
has gone through several major rewrites (including a recent minor rewrite
to get it to GNU coding and documentation standards). IMBO version 2
is the more "standard" and better version, but don't let Mark hear me say
that :-) I wouldn't be surprised if version 1 includes Sablime-specific
stuff
for obvious reasons.
I've resisted putting Clearcase-specific stuff into GNU trueprint, but only
because I haven't seen any demand for it. You should be able to print a
diff-output for a single file using the standard -O or --diff option, but
I can't think of a simple way to generate the formatted diff output for a
collection of files. If I get a lot of responses to this mail saying that
this
would be a neat thing to have then I'll add it somehow. And of course if
there are other desired enhancements then I'll take those too...
I seem to be off the cciug list right now, so if you want me to see any
replies to this mail please make sure I'm on the to: list...
