Hi,
if I get you right you want to install patches to your system?
You don't need a clearcase license for this.
If you want to make sure no one can use CC, you could temporarily rename the
license file.
Anyhow, during patch install, CC usually will be stopped and restarted.
We encoutered the problem sometimes that some users didn't quit their views
or some processes still had the vob mount directories in use - then CC
couldn't terminate. All we could do is reboot, perform the update and start
CC again.
(All this for UNIX systems.)

Is there a way to lock the available CC licenses down to one? This way only
the administrator will be able to access clearcase for updating CC's UNIX
3.2.1 patches?
Say that can't be done. May be there is a way to get one temporary license
and use it during the patch? If so, where to get that one day one license
for one machine? :)
