Hi Karen,

The import time is affected not just by the number of elements but by the
number of versions associated with each element.

A good way to get a count is to grep through the CVT_DATA file and count up
the number of VERSION_BEGIN entries.
This gives you the number of versions that need to be created.

Depending on what the VOB you are importing is doing, aside from the
import, on average it takes about 5 seconds to import a single version.

Based on your data. 12k files, 2k dirs, 3.5mb cvt_data file, it would
indicate that you have, on average, 7 versions per file.

Could this be about right ?

Hope this helps
Steve
