Hi Mike,

We also use CLEARCASE_PRIMARY_GROUP for our NT.
So u can set it using Control panel environ. But
make it sure that u logged in as an admin, this is
bcos if u set it as admin variable, it will be set
for any user that logs on NT, else for each user he
will have to set the variable.

From ur desc what i guess is u have Unix CC server and
NT as client, if yes then also run the utility

  <CC home>\etc\utils\credmap

which will help you in verfying ur group of both NT & Unix.

Hope this helps you and clear your doubt.

Regards,
 Girish

Subject: [cciug] CLEARCASE_PRIMARY_GROUP usage

Hello,

I see under start -> settings -> control panel -> system ->environ
an area for system variables and user variables.

I've never used CLEARCASE_PRIMARY_GROUP before. Do I set it here
(which one) or put it in autoexec.bat?

Can someone give me an example assuming that the group I'm trying
to set to is dev?

I'm more of a Unix guy than NT and would appreciate any help given!!

Thanks, Mike
