I do not wish to destroy the view or current work in the view. We just want
to clean up some dangling checkouts. checkin and uncheckout from the find
checkout window does not work. Errors such as "This operation is not
permitted for history mode elements." Then it says that "File is not
accessible."
This is CC 3.2.1 on NT 4.0 snapshot view.

the provider directory is at version 23 now. the config specs for the view
are standard. These files are no longer in the current version of the
directory.
how do we clear them out?
