There is a Crypt package available from CPAN. I never used it myself, but
supposedly, it supports several en-/decryption methods like DES or IDEA.
The package's use was described in the (german) iX computer magazine
(10/99).
Depending on your needs, you might as well be interested in the Digest
package (also from CPAN).
