[cciug] Visual C++ Lockup

I just had a developer call with an odd one.

This developer is using VC++ 6 SP3 (ClearCase 3.2.1 patch ? at this time).
He was working merrily in his project, but wanted to get the Development
branch (which he is working in) updated so that everyone could see his
latest changes. He checked in his code using the option to leave it checked
out (checkin/checkout). When he does this Visual C++ wants to reload the
project or workspace. When it goes out to reload it there is a huge delay
and the CPU pegs. Now when he tries to open a VC++ workspace it takes 30+
minutes instead of 30 seconds.

This problem just started today. He has rebooted a number of times since. I
ran CCDoctor which came back normal. I of course asked him what he has
changed on his machine since last week. He said he installed NetBEUI so that
he can sync up with his new laptop.

I told him to turn off NetBEUI and see if that helped. He hasn't gotten back
to me yet.

Does anybody have any idea what could be wrong.

Thanks!
