hi!

anyone got a clarification on item 11.6 of the clearcase 4.0 license:
"Licensee is prohibited from creating any software program which links, embeds or makes
direct function calls to product runtime components licensed to rational by third parties."

As it stands it also applies to ccperl, which means we are not allowed to write triggers.
I also daubt the license agreement of perl allows rational to make such limitations.
In fact ccperl -v shows (for CC3.2.1 - i have not opened the 4.0 CD, but maybe someone can help)

:This is perl, version 5.001
:
: Unofficial patchlevel 1m.
:
:Copyright 1987-1994, Larry Wall
:Win32 port Copyright (c) 1995 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.
: Developed by hip communications inc., http://info.hip.com/info/
:
: Perl for Win32 Build 110
: Built Jan 14 1998@09:37:58
:Perl may be copied only under the terms of either the Artistic License or the
:GNU General Public License, which may be found in the Perl 5.0 source kit.

so 11.6 is definitely against the perl license rational has.

I have to ask rational to clarify which items we may not use directly or indirectly (imagine rational replaces
a microsoft runtime dll licensed to them by microsoft during installation - we would violate the rational
license by practically everything we do)
